Weddings & Events

The mansion has held a great many evenings already. It is unbothered by holding one more.

We host weddings, rehearsal dinners, vow renewals, milestone birthdays, anniversary parties, and intimate private dinners. The house holds an intimate gathering as well as it holds a grand one — what it does not do, by design, is feel like a venue.

Weddings & Receptions.

The dining room seats forty around long tables and is the heart of every reception we host — anchored by the marble fireplace, the William Morris panels above the mantel, and tall windows along the south wall. Cocktails move easily between the parlor, the great room, and the conservatory. Larger guest counts spill into the walled garden in warm weather.

Ceremonies in summer take place at the koi pond, with the guests gathered on the lawn around it. In winter, ceremonies are held inside before the great room fireplace, the foyer and parlor opened to give the room its full length. Both work beautifully. Both have been done.

Rehearsal Dinners & Private Parties.

For groups of up to thirty, a long single table runs the length of the dining room — set with linen, silver, garland, and candles. The room takes well to small numbers and feels generous rather than empty when half-filled. Rehearsal dinners, milestone birthdays, anniversary dinners, and engagement parties are all well-suited here.

Vow Renewals & Elopements.

For two to twelve people. A small ceremony at the pond or the fireplace, a private dinner afterward, and overnight accommodations in the rooms. The whole house is yours for the evening.

Photo & Editorial Shoots.

The mansion is regularly booked for editorial and bridal shoots, look-books, and small commercial productions. We rent the property by the half-day or full day. Inquire with dates and shot list.

How It Works.

  1. Inquire. Send dates, guest count, and a sentence about what you’re imagining. We’ll come back within a few days with availability and the next step.
  2. Tour. Visit the house in person. An hour, give or take. There is no obligation, and we do not give scripted tours — you’ll see the rooms and the grounds, and we’ll answer everything you ask.
  3. Reserve. A signed agreement and deposit hold the date.

Inquire About a Date.

The fastest way to begin is to call (860) 558-1957 or write to info@charlescheneymansioninn.com with your preferred date, the kind of event, and a rough guest count. We’ll respond personally.
